Wrapping Up 2021

By

2021… The year came and went. And what a profound year it was. With the help of two mental health professionals, multiple spiritual teachers and shamans, one gifted massage therapist, a plethora of physicians and surgeons, one amazing realtor, life-long friends, and my family (including the fuzzy ones!) I began the journey out of the darkness that had culminated in 2020.

Because we now had the space and a beautiful dining room, we elected to host Thanksgiving dinner. Cooking is not really my thing and has become increasingly challenging, so we did more of a shared celebration. My mom came over early and made the turkey. I made a few sides, and our Aunts made a few desserts. After dinner, we had drinks, played pool and darts did some karaoke-style singing, and really enjoyed one another. It was a wonderful day — I felt so blessed!

We celebrated Dylan’s 18th birthday on December 2 by going to a favorite restaurant and pigging out! Bharat and I went to a comedy show and saw Sebastian Maniscalco. If you are not familiar with him, check him out, he is hysterical! He has many stand-up comedy shows on Netflix and has done a couple movies as well.

For Christmas I just pulled out a few of the decorations since I was still in recuperation mode from the car accident and couldn’t do a lot of heavy lifting (who am I kidding I can’t do ANY heavy lifting— ever 😂 ). Since our fireplace does not have a mantle, I used our glass bookcase as a makeshift mantle to hang up stockings and put the gifts under the glass table with the angels on top as a makeshift Christmas tree. Not the usual decorations, but it worked, and it was good enough!
